This is a superb, original example of the second edition of the much emulated US Navy CPO shirt, which was issued from the mid-forties, following on from the single-pocket version.
Like its forerunner, it is made in a mid-weight wool flannel and is a pleasure to wear - warm and soft on the skin.
This shirt is in exceptional condition and features all its original anchor buttons and Naval Factory Clothing label. The only obvious sign of use is the ironed creases, which can probably be steamed out, if preferred.
The label indicates it was made as a 16.5" collar, but the passage of time and washes means it is more like a 16" collar today.
